Deforestation DRC
As a consequence of the Rwandan genocide, several wars occurred in DR Congo since 1994. Lots of people were forced to find refuge in the forest. To survive they had no other option as cutting trees for firewood so as eating bushmeat. Paradoxically it was war that protected forest from lumbering. When peace came back, forestry started again, worse then before, and people continue to cut tree for their needs.
