Gene therapy
The treatment of a disorder or disease, especially one caused by the inheritance of a defective gene, by replacing defective genes with healthy ones involves genetic engineering or the addition of new DNA and its insertion into the genome. Gene therapy is a very valuable procedure used in cases where there is no conventional treatment available.
